GOVERNMENT SUPPRESSES NOISE PROTECTION EXPERT ADVICE

New Evidence Shows that Government Suppressed Expert Advice to Lower Wind Turbine Noise Limits Intended to Protect Residents

New evidence released by the Dept. of Energy and Climate Change under a Freedom of Information request shows that Government suppressed a recommendation by its own acoustics consultants to tighten current noise regulations on wind turbines in order to protect local residents from night time noise. This does little credit to the Department, and must be corrected immediately. To read more click here. To go to the Denbrook Judicial Review Group's website click here.

WIND FARM PUBLIC INQUIRY FINALLY COMES TO AN END The Three Moors/Bickham Moor wind farm public inquiry finally drew to a close on 24 November with a day of closing submissions from the five QCs.
The public inquiry was into two appeals lodged in September 2008. One was by Airtricity for 9 wind turbines each 105 metres high close to Knowstone in North Devon, known by the appellant as the Three Moors wind farm, only about 2 miles from the boundary of Exmoor National Park. The other was by Coronation Power for 4 wind turbines each 100 metres high, known by the appellant as the Bickham Moor wind farm, about 4 miles from the boundary of the National Park.
CPRE Devon joined with the Exmoor Society and the Two Moors Campaign to form the Rural Exmoor Alliance which then registered with the Planning Inspectorate as a Rule 6 Party for the public inquiry.
