Volunteering

Fisherman on beach Working or volunteering for CPRE may be one of the most challenging and fulfilling experiences you ever have.

Since its founding in 1926, CPRE has been driven by the passion and determination of its staff and volunteers.

Volunteering does NOT mean a full time job! Many of our branches need occasional help sending out letters to members or to lobby local or national bodies or someone to monitor local press for planning applications.

These are often people who have worked in other sectors (public and private) and who have come to realise the importance of protecting the countryside and the wider environment – and who say that working for CPRE fulfils a dream to do something positive in these spheres. They continue to build CPRE’s long-established reputation for professionalism and quality. They are the reason for our many lobbying and campaigning successes. You can contribute to protecting the countryside.

We try to encourage and offer a good work-life balance, training and flexible working conditions (where appropriate). The work can be challenging but we operate in teams for support, encouragement and creativity. We also strive to ensure our volunteers are matched for roles they would suit and enjoy best and are given training, guidance and support.

Both staff and volunteers say they feel a sense of purpose working for CPRE, knowing they are protecting rural England for future generations.

A supportive and challenging place to work
We are always keen to hear from people who want to work or volunteer to help CPRE to achieve its aims. Any job vacancies we have are advertised on our website and in the press.

Please feel to contact us to discuss opportunities that may suit you.
